Kivuli Trust
The Three Cheers Pub Co wanted to give something back – so in March 2009, we chose Kivuli Trust as our adopted charity.
Three Cheers Pub Co have worked with The Kivuli Trust in Kenya since 2009. Kivuli means ‘shelter’ in Swahili and we pay for the running costs of two boarding houses for 68 children at Gilgil Primary School. This boarding house provides a nurturing environment for children with physical and mental difficulties to grow up in, enabling them access to mainstream education as well as a safe place to live, both previously unobtainable.
In October 2016 Three Cheers Pub Co. owner Tom Peake visited the school to see the impact our monies have had on the children and the school. Later that year we started a fundraising initiative in order to provide hot water for the children and to build an all-important playground. In less than four weeks, Three Cheers Pub Co and our lovely customers raised £15,000 to help do this and more. Find out more here.
Today, we still continue to support the charity via donating a portion of our profits and send crucial funds to upkeep the project every year.
